In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, cybersecurity is no longer a luxury — it is a necessity. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) form the backbone of Europe’s economy, yet they often lack the resources and expertise to defend themselves against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
Recognizing this critical gap, SmarTech-IT has launched the Small Business Cybersecurity Resilience Initiative (SCRIP), a three-year project funded by the European Union under the Digital Europe Programme.
SCRIP’s mission is clear: to empower SMEs across Europe to strengthen their digital resilience and ensure the safety of the broader supply chains and communities that depend on them. Over the next 36 months, SCRIP will bring together experts, partners, and stakeholders from Poland and across the EU to implement a comprehensive program of action.
The initiative focuses on five key pillars. First, it will build a unified cybersecurity framework for SMEs, providing clear guidelines and best practices tailored to their needs. Second, SCRIP will enhance real-time monitoring and incident response capabilities, enabling businesses to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents more efficiently. Third, the project will foster cross-border threat intelligence sharing, ensuring that knowledge about emerging threats flows freely across the EU, benefiting all participants. Fourth, SCRIP will deliver training and awareness programs designed to upskill employees and strengthen organizational cyber defenses. Finally, the project will develop the SCRIP Digital Resilience Map (SDRM), a tool to visualize and assess the cybersecurity posture of SMEs and their ecosystems.
The expected outcome is a scalable, EU-ready model that not only protects individual businesses but also enhances the resilience of entire supply chains and critical infrastructures. By integrating technical solutions, training, and collaborative intelligence, SCRIP aims to set a new standard for cybersecurity preparedness in Europe.
Funded by the European Union, SCRIP represents a major step toward a safer, more resilient digital future. Through collaboration, innovation, and shared knowledge, the project demonstrates how SMEs, the public sector, and technology partners can work together to mitigate risks and build trust in the digital economy.
As we move forward, we invite stakeholders, businesses, and the wider community to stay engaged with SCRIP’s progress. Together, we can shape a stronger, more secure European digital landscape.
